Pastor Alvin C. Carter

2022 - PRESENT

Reverend Alvin C. Carter was elected as the Fourth Pastor of Beulah Grove Missionary Baptist Church, beginning on December 1, 2022, by God’s grace and the power of prayer. Pastor Carter came from Madison, Mississippi, with his lovely wife, Sister KaLandra M. Carter, and their daughters, Aerial, Alondriya, and Khloe. Under Pastor Carter’s leadership and guidance, the church’s membership has increased significantly, and numerous ministries and committees have been established and organized. These include Beautification, Christian Education, College, Community Outreach/Mission, Culinary, Deacon, Family, Health and Wellness, Media/Publications, Men’s, Military, Mothers’ and Deaconess’, Music, New Members Orientation, Pastor’s Aide/Hospitality, Safety Preparedness, School Liaison, Sunday School, Trustee, Ushers’, Women’s, Young Adult, and Youth ministries.

Several impactful initiatives were formed during Pastor Carter’s tenure. Family Night Out was created to unite the church family and community on the last Wednesday of each month, fostering fellowship and connection. The Reverend Leonard Charles Adley Scholarship Committee was re-established, with its first recipients honored in 2024. Additionally, the 365 Building Fund was renamed the Beulah Grove Growth and Development Fund. Youth Night and College Check-In were also introduced to provide focused support and engagement for children, youth, and college students.

In February 2023, a Litany of Dedication was presented for the installation of the new Digital Church Sign. In September 2023, the Christian Leadership School resumed after a hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, the phrases “Welcome to Beulah Grove” and “Beulah Grove Rising Together,” along with the social media hashtags #welcome2beulahgrove and #beulahgroverisingtogether, became foundational tools for engaging the church and surrounding community and encouraging members to serve God’s people together.

On October 8, 2023, three new deacons were ordained: Brothers Alfred Bales, Antuaine Dunn, Sr., and Earl Gordon. That same year, major renovations were completed, including newly renovated bathrooms, the creation of a conference room, the relocation and updating of the Pastor’s study, repairs to the air conditioning system, remodeling of the secretary’s office, and the redesign of the media room to support live streaming. All restoration and remodeling work was completed by Clarence Ross.

In 2024, Brother Darnell Murray was reappointed to the Deacon Ministry. Beulah Grove Missionary Baptist Church reactivated its membership with the General Missionary Baptist State Convention of Mississippi, Inc. and the Washington County General Baptist Association in Greenville, Mississippi. That same year, Pastor Carter was appointed Second Vice Moderator by Moderator Reverend Jessie King. In 2025, Pastor Carter was appointed Assistant Director of the State Youth and Young Adult Division of GMSBA and Director of the State Oratorical Contest. Dr. Curtistene Davis was appointed Third Vice President of the Washington County Women Auxiliary in 2025, and Deacon Roy Gordon, Sr. was appointed Assistant Youth Supervisor for the Washington County General Baptist Association.

Additional programs established during Pastor Carter’s leadership include Back 2 School Sundae, Graduation Sunday, Youth Day Service, Sunday Fun Day, Easter Eggstravaganza, Annual Revival, Family and Friends Day, Women Conference, Red White and Denim Day, Women’s History Month Observation, Mother Cammie Davis Service Award/Woman of the Year, Deacon Aaron Pearl Service Award/Man of the Year, Church Anniversary, Pastoral Appreciation, Men’s Health Month 5K Walk/Run, Ministry Leader Meetings, Winter Wonderland Youth Fundraising Event, Sweet Corn Sale Youth Fundraising Event, and the celebration of various religious holidays. Several foundational manuals were also developed, including the Constitution and Bylaws, Beulah Grove Youth and College Ministry (BGYCM) Policies and Procedures, Deacon’s Training Manual, Deacon’s Family Ministry Plan, and New Member Orientation 2.0.

As Beulah Grove Missionary Baptist Church continues to flourish through its ministries within both the church and the community, members are consistently encouraged to remain humble and faithful as the Lord leads the way. The church has been greatly blessed, and as the congregation remains focused on the Father’s work, it anticipates receiving even more according to God’s will. Together, as a church family, Beulah Grove continues to build on a Good Foundation by worshipping the Lord in Spirit and in Truth.
